i am admitedly no photographer, but i will occasionally drag around a camera when i'm in the bush (though very rarely) and i thought i would share a few sights that i am priviledged enough to encounter often (or atleast more so than most.)
some are canadian standards but i figured this was an international crowd so i'd throw in a few that might be common here but never seen elsewhere.

Haha no Zoos here. they're from various outings over the last year i'd say. just organizing the comp and thought i'd toss some on here.

they're all from in an around foleyet ontario.
sorry for the poor map, it's the only one i could find quickly from some lodge site...

wow, you see some great animals. One of my primary motivations to be outdoors is to see the animals. I bet that bobcat was a rare sight, they are rather reclusive.

It's a great motivation for me as well. that's a lynx not a bobcat though, they are similar though. lynx are quite rare to see and are very reclusive as you've mentioned.
there's a Golden Eagle around too they are unbelievable. i'll have to get some pics and post'em. also a rare sight.

Great pics! Some rare animals for sure, at least down here. I see the black bears out in Shenandoah, foxes are pretty common, a loon once in a while, ospreys by the shore and some bald eagles every so often but none of the others.

We have none of those animals around here, other than at the San Diego Zoo, which doesn't count. I'd love to see them in the wild. I really like the wolf pics, especially the one laying down.

Very cool pics. Thank you for sharing.
The Lynx is really cool. I've seen Bobcats but a Lynx has always appeared to me as a Bobcat on steroids. Complete with the rage.
The second Loon pic is better than any I've seen in my birding books. Great shot.

goatariba I used to go up past Cochrane in the spring and hunt black bears. There is some nice country up there. We always would stop at Gramps place on the way up to grab some coffee ect.. I miss there 15 hour trips. I remember seeing Moose, bears wolves while we were there as well. Real nice shots. Doug

I know the area well, aren't all of those northern towns interesting? i've spent a lot of time as far up as moose factory. some beautiful bush up that way.

thanks protourist, here's another nice one for you. most ppl don't realize how green loons are in some light. almost like gas on the water, a metalic green. great birds.

Thank You!
That was exactly what I was thinking. That green is beautiful too.

I have been to Hurst, Matice, in fact I am pretty sure we were between the two of them when we were hunting. The first year up there we where in a little store and met this guy, his family took us in like we had known them all our lives, They fed us took us out to where we should go to hunt. It was great times and people. The first year both my friend and I got a bear. I do miss them trips. Doug

That white moose is very cool looking. Never heard of them. I like loons too. Beautiful, mournful cry...
