My 3 night river trip turned into a one nighter unfortunately, but it was still a blast! A little cold at night, and windy the second day. I got to put my new Krein Bushcraft and my GB small forest axe to good use. We made camp late, and I was too busy gathering firewood with my axe to worry about setting up camp. I wanted to spend some more time testing out some new gear, but I was busy with the fire keeping my wife warm. Again, I was too impatient in the beginning in collecting firewood, and I couldn't get a fire started using a 15 minute road flare! Yikes! I was axe happy, so I just needed some smaller stuff and got the fire going in a few minutes w/ my peanut lighter. I also used a pocket chainsaw, which I love, but I would have rather had something better. A 7" or larger saw with a good handle would have been nice. I think I'll save the pocket saw as a backup option or for larger, less common stuff. I couldn't be more pleased with my GB and Krein combo though!
Our campsite
Breakfast!
New tarp and bivy (first time using it, had to do the tarp in the dark so it didn't work out to well)
This was right across from our site, dripped water all night
Krein and GB
Again
And my PSK I finally finished, it's actually in my pocket!
It was just me and my wife (CRKT ABC Hammond on vest)
Her first overnight solo (Jack's Fork River in Missouri)
And a bad picture, but we saw a ton of armadillo
