A few Spyderco prototype videos from the 2014 IWA Show

Man the PITS looks great as well! Mr Blonde if you have an ARK video that would be cool, I'ld love to see it in hand...

This upcoming Bowie folder, designed by Marcin Slysz, was one of my top three favorite Spyderco prototypes this year.

I've been drooling over the photos of this knife, but somehow the video changed that for me. The lines on the handle seemed...blocky maybe? Just didn't seem to have a flow if that makes any sense.

Maybe off to the K2 for me! ;) :D

Spyderco’s Eric Glesser presents the Rubicon, designed by Peter Carey. This was really the proverbial custom quality folder. I am sure this knife will become a big hit.

I realize the tag says 'production prototype', but the information I got from Spyderco indicated that the Rubicon seen here was a 'production sample'.

That Rubicon is going on my wish list for sure.
Very interesting design and I like the linerlock for some reason. I have a BUNCH of framelocks, so changing it up will be nice. And I love me some flippers.

I don't know how much I like the orange however. I think it might have been better to leave the colors out because I don't know how many people might be turned off by the orange. I'm not, but I would have preferred to have just plain CF handles and keep the classy feel. The orange almost dresses it DOWN for me. I might be in the minority here though.

The last Spyderco prototype I got on video this year, is the Ed Schempp Frontier. This knife was my number one favorite of all the prototypes Spyderco showed this year. This Ed Schempp design will be a great addition to the Spyderco series of ethnic folders. Eric Glesser from Spyderco gives a quick tour of this knife at the IWA Show in Germany.

wow, Spyderco are really setting the bar for design very high at the moment. The Slysz Bowie, Pits, chubby and Rubicon all appeal to me. I know not everybody is into Spyderco but the things they do, they do extremely well. Their work with custom knife-makers and innovation is very high standard, they make other brands look very boring for me personally.

thanks for sharing the video's, they brighten up a rainy day

Doesn't matter how many $2000 customs I acquire, I still love me some Spyderco knives!! Mr. Blonde - thanks for all your coverage. Cheers.

Thanks for watching and the kind words. I'm very grateful to spyderco for helping me shoot these videos and present them to all us knifeknuts.

How does it look closed? Is it a flipper? Is it a frame lock; liner lock? What steel is it?

Finally, a slipit folder design that looks like it could take some hard use! I am very anxious to see this PITS folder, designed by Mike Read, in production.

This one looks like a winner!
