My lines use what I know as a "trucker's hitch" for adjusting length, works pretty slick. I do use Prussik loops on each end of the ridgeline to adjust the tension on the tarp.

Good deal - I suck at tying Trucker's Hitches. Not a hard knot, I just can't seem to remember it well enough.

Wow very nice post!

I have used the first tarp set-up once in the mountians of PA.

I learned the hard way to make sure and check which way the wind was going to be blowing...

I woke when the tarp (wind tunnel) I was sleeping in ripped out an eyelet and some rogue cordish slapped me in the head like my mama use to when I would sass her.

Great posts...brought back some memories.
