A few thoughts on lockback fit/finish

That's flush compared to what mine used to look like before I took a belt sander to it.

This is one of two 2013 501s I have that are identical.
Not enough for me to bother with, other than to discuss the cause and fix for it :)

Do you have before and after photos of yours?
That would be awesome, to show folks an easy remedy to improve things on theirs.

Open yes, closed it's almost perfect but just a hair higher on one of the sides of the lock bar, but much better. Sorry about the unclear pics.

That makes sense, I pretty much figure sanding it down lessens the difference, but not 100%
Definately enough to be happy though! :)

This is why non custom knives don't sit perfectly flush when both open and closed. You can fix open or closed simply by sanding the lock bar flush in either position. To make both perfect you have to take the knife back apart and mess with it - ok if it is an expensive custom but not if you're trying to sell it for $35 to $80.
