A few updates....RMDx LE and Rat Chat

Well,I don't want to get anyone's hopes up,
but "rodent solution" sounds kinda cryptic to me...
almost like someone really, really wants to tell us what it is,
but can't... and one kind of 'rodent solution' is a rat trap...
and I seem to recall a post some time back alluding to the impending release of something new and different...
...'rodent solution' could mean an updated version of the Rat Trap...
(of course,to catch a rat,it would have to be fairly big and strong, right? ;) )

Wolf, don't worry about getting my hopes up - they are way high thanks to Eric's news of the release other than the Taz Rat ( which I guess is still unreleased - on the masses anyway ).:D

A folder would be awesome....but so would that M7ish kind of thing !

My only worry with a folder is Australian Customs.....they confiscate nearly any folding knife on the pretext that it is a "flick" knife. They have taken 3 of mine. And the items I bought I could buy locally at the shops for 3 times the price ! But not import..

Simple folding knives with a thumb stud or hole don't get into Australia anymore without a ton of paperwork and exemptions....but if I have to.....

if you ever get another folder, get the maker/shipper to crank down the pivot so tight that it barely opens. And don't buy a folder with a fixed pivot! ;)

That is exactly how I got a Buck Strider through. I asked the guy to tighten the pivot so you could only just open it. Cool guy - it made it through the Wall !

I like the look of the Buck's version of the Strider, but c'mon...
420hc steel? I was disappointed to see that was their crap...I mean, steel of choice,:thumbdn:
(or did you score the ATS 34?)

I picked up an 889 - so 420 yeah.
It is the linerlock - not the frame-lock.
Without trying to spam or anything, I won it an online auction for a song - $25 - which was my highest bid. Wouldn't pay much more than that for that version. The other guy gave up easy.
I use it a lot inside the house - everything from mail opener to paracord cutter.
It's a light chore knife for me- would love to get an ATS34 one, though.
Hope I am not derailing the thread with talk of other manufacturers knives but we are Ratchatting !
