I don't know why someone would get into a knife fight if they were able to run but I guess that is what we call this style of knife.

Forged from 1/4 inch 5160
Flat grind
Distal taper
Hand sanded to 400 grit
Stabilized curly maple handle
Buffalo horn spacer
Overall length: 13 1/2 inches
Blade: 8 1/2 inches
Riveted leather sheath

If running is not an option, and a knife fight is imminent, then - to borrow from Crocodile Dundee ("You call that a knife?"), and Robert Ruark ("Bring enough gun!") - bring enough knife! Gerry's new creation would seem to fit that requirement nicely!

Gerry - in the photos the brass hilt appears to be unusual in that it looks to have a grooved outer edge. Is that the case, or is it just the effect of the light hitting the brass?

Yes, the guard is grooved. I did that with a file; making it was a little tricky.

Thanks guys. This is why I like this forum; I have friends that I never met.

Hell, never mind a fighter, it would make an excellent woods knife. Reminds me of a Scagel, or type of bowie. Very nice knife. Unfortunately I just had two knives come in, and another due any time.
