A first attempt at forced patinization; should I stick with this or redo it?

I never did really like the finish on the Swamp Rat knife, the crinkly olive green stuff. And after seeing a few examples of forcing a patina, I thought I'd try my hand at it.

Here's my humble first attempt. Do you like it, hate it, think I should have another go at it, or?

Patinization??? Is that a word????:D Blade looks good though.:thumbup:
 
It looks amazing! Thanks for the tip about grapefruit slices under pressure! Cool!
 
It's like a black and white photo of a camo pattern. I like it, I'd keep it. It will change, as you use the knife.
Did you rub down the metal to clean off any oily residue, prior to the grapfruit? What kind of "pressure" did you use? Some kind of weight, or a container?
