Flawless - without blemishes or imperfections; perfect.

Don Hanson III is a top-shelf knifemaker. He is a substantial professional in the knife world and as such Don can be counted on to deliver a perfect knife every time. The beautiful damascus and fossil ivory bowie/fighter below is a good example because Don's skilled work and attention to detail is easy to see on a big knife. OAL is 15 inches and the blade is 9 3/4 inches. The fancy leather sheath is by Paul Long.

Makers and collectors do not start out with a refined sense of perfection in knives. It comes with experience, including inevitable mistakes made along the path. One excellent way to assess a maker and a knife offered for sale is to turn the knife over and carefully inspect everything you see for symmetry, tight fit, clean edges and no slop of any kind, as illustrated below.

Thats awesome! Great blade and handle, and go well together. I like this particular image too, and the detail shot. Have we seen this knife somewhere before? Looks familiar.

WOW!!! That sure does look good! Typical DHIII AWESOMENESS, and as always, stellar leather work by the master!

Very Nice Don. Great Shots Buddy and that Ivory is as nice as I have ever seen.

Will Don EVER run out of sick Ivory ? :p:p

What a surprise...
Credit to the man who bought it - he was very impressed with it and I was happy to shoot it! I didn't speak with you, or anyone (well, the owner) in advance. I need to be as objective as possible with the power of the camera and the computer behind me. Coop is all about the same thing - we have to be objective. And ultimate credit to you, Don. Few knives, your peers' excepted of course, can really stand up to this kind of exposure in the modern digital world.

Nice images, Buddy! Don's work is typified in that second shot. Another trait Don has nailed from his years of experience, and not able to be exposed here, is feel. Having a grasp (no pun intented :)) on that is no easy task.

Thanks for sharing!
