I don't believe that I've ever seen anything quite like this one.

I saw that thing myself and wondered what it was. I haven't taken the time to check any of the catalogs, but I don't recognise it.

Guys,

It might be a Red Hill Cultery special. They have advertised red buck mods. on ebay...
Just a possibility.

OK, after getting out one of my Alpha Dorado's, I've figured it out. I don't know who they were made for, but they are a dead ringer for the Dorado folder except for the finish. I may have just gotten a good deal!

Dave,

Compare the pivot bushing/nut. It looks different.
Let's all see some comparison pictures when you can do a side by side.
btw, your stag collection is sweet. g

I noticed the difference there, but disregarding that and the color, the blade shape and everything else seems the same.

I'll take some side by side pictures when it comes and also I'll take some of the rest of my stags. Those are just a few of them. Glad you like them.:)

These damn jumbo Dorado fakes were all over ebay tonight. :(
I like the pattern though. I wish Buck would make one.

I bought one just to see what its was like even knowing it was a cheap knockoff. Low quality and poor F&F but its ergonomics are good.

Looks like some of the chinese knock-offs I saw overseas. Looks a bit like a Mantis knife also.

I used to be surprised that sle-bay let people sell counterfiets but after watching it for years nothing they do surprises me.

It's not a question of eBay allowing it. Do you realize just how many items are for sale at any given time on eBay? It is impossible for them to police every listing. However, anybody can report a listing to them.

A lot of people complain about eBay, but just remember how difficult it was to obtain what you wanted before eBay existed; and what you had to pay for it. The biggest problem is that people don't do their research before they bid.

I was one of the first to purchase one of those knowing or at least strongly suspecting that it was a phony. I didn't care because it was really cheap and I wanted to see it in hand.
When the folks at Buck expressed an interest in it, I sent it to them and it was confirmed to be fake. I reported the others that were listed on Ebay and furnished all the documentation I received from Buck. None of the listings were removed and all were allowed to run their course. Now they are back? I don't know what else you can do to expose a fraud.
