A Fun Couple of Days At Fiddleback Forge

Always enjoyable seeing where the magic happens. Thanks for taking us along - looking forward to the other photos.

Thanks for sharing the awesome experience Brian. As always your pictures are great and I love getting to dig thru the daily grind vicariously thru Bud and now you. I'm really digging the WSK, hopefully it makes the cut. I'm excited to see what you get into with the new Kephart.

Awesome thread Brian -- I'm glad the your trip to the forge went well & thanks for sharing some great pics!!

Thanks Will, very well indeed, and I am glad you enjoyed the pics!

Glad you liked the post. I had an idea of how it goes going in, as I have several friends who are knife makers here locally. But getting the opportunity to wander, observe, and photograph the magic happening gave me a whole new appreciation for Fridays. The downside was in running across a grail in the works that I simply could not afford after other expenses... but that's just life.

I'm glad you enjoyed the post man. I found that laying on the table, used it to illustrate why I would like to have something like that made by FF versus most of the ones I have seen on the market that to me have inherent flaw in the chopping dept. that this one would overcome...I could totally do without the saw. I don't hold out much hope of it making the cut, but it was the first I had seen like the WSK style that showed the potential to be something I would personally want to own. I am looking forward to getting out with the Kephart, but with a high today of 33, a low of 15, and a high tomorrow of 28 and low of 15...I'm sort of glad to be stuck inside editing, writing, and remodeling a kitchen for a few days :)

It was great having you here Brian! Thanks for making the drive down. Looking forward to seeing more pics as you have them, and hopefully we'll get you back down here in the near future.

Thank you Ken, it was great getting to be there. I would very much like to get back down in the near future at the beginning of a week and capture steps in the process not done on Thursdays or Fridays.

Brian

Thanks for the thread. It reminds me of the trip my wife and I took this past spring. We detoured to the shop on our way to visit her parents in SC. Unfortunately we could only stay for a brief time but it was long enough to share a beer with Andy and get to socialize a bit. It's a special opportunity when you get to see behind the scenes and really get to meet the people that work so hard. I appreciate your time and taking that a step further. Thanks again for the thread.

Dave
