The basic design for my Arkansas Hunter is based on a knife made during the 1920s by one of the smaller knife companies that did not survive the Great Depression. I saw it in one of the knife magazines a few years ago and enlarged it as the 2012 Texas Ranger collectible. That knife measured 4-1/4" closed. I have reduced the size to 4" closed with a 3-1/2" blade of 8Cr13MoV at 57-59 Rc. for the Arkansas Hunter. I think this is a knife which will make you feel good about knives again. Probably the best made lockback you can buy today for anything close to the price.
The bolsters, caps, inlay and liners are finest quality stainless steel.
The knife is designed to be opened one handed with either hand. Using the end of your thumb in the oversized nail nick it is easy to swing the blade into the open position. Includes a lanyard to assist removal from your pocket. The blade is so perfectly center ground that you will think you are looking at a handmade knife by one of the masters. Weighs between 4.7 and 4.9 oz. depending on the handle material. Lockback. Made in China.
