A.G. Russell Leopardwood Dogleg Trapper. I just happened to see this trapper in an email, has anyone had any experience with it?

Those are very handsome knives. I was eyeing the stag one for a while but missed the boat.

So there's no-one that has any experience with these? I've been eyeing the Cocobolo version for ages but would really like some feedback on it if I'm to pull the trigger.

I just learned about A.G. Russell's quality recently when I bought my curved regular jack. For the price, the quality is outstanding, and from what I've read his other knives are same no matter where they're manufactured.

I'd love a pinched Peanut myself...

I had been looking at these also. The only reason I haven't bought one is having 1/8" thick steel on a 2 3/4" blade. But I am curious to here if feedback on it.

It's a beautifull knife. Don't worry about the blade thickness...the grinds are well executed, high hollow grinds all the way to the spine and swedge, which you can clearly see on the spey. Overall fit is excellent. Solid half stops, pull is rather light as well as blade tension while open.(I'm not real good at judging but would say maybe 3-4 out of 10 ) A word of caution though...I am a nit picker and here I go...
Spring cutouts on the tang were left Sharp...crest of swedges were left sharp...for me this was no big deal...I spent some time with 400 grit and a tapered DMT and "cleaned up" all the sharp edges where there oght not to be edges. In the closed position of the clip blade the sping is proud by about .01-.02. when open the spring is flush...Spey spring is flush both positions. Comes razor sharp and of couse VG10 is some pretty good stuff :)
Inside the wells this knife is immaculate...
Please keep in mind that I am a Nit Picker...this is one fine piece of cutlery.

Oh yeah...forgot to say...The MOP is beautifull to gaze at in the sunlight ;)
