It's basically the same thing as using loctite.

Except not as binding. I use thread tape all the time on my pivots and it works it's way loose. Granted I use my knife at work fairly hard.

But I choose it over blue loctite because I take the knife apart fairly often.

I use E6000 but beware..that's some powerful stuff.
I only used it on a hard use knife I use around the house on a pocket clip that kept moving. Not going anywhere now

Ah..

I use Teflon tape all the time at work (plumber) and find joints that had t-tape come apart easier that joints made with just pipe dope.

I guess if it works it works!
