If it counts, I still want to see me some chemlight/snaplight glo sticks with knife.
I LOVEmorel mushrooms.
I think they're just about everywhere. I bet Kentucky has them. The last house I lived in before we bought this one they grew right in the yard. The last spring I lived there, I picked over 300 from the yard.....most fairly small.I LOVEmorel mushrooms. Like love. Used to pick them in Michigan. I don't know if Kentucky has any

Me too. I always find morels and wild asparagus (like in my picture) while I'm fishing. I love them both.Works for me! I'm so ready for this years to start.
And YES Chris you can find morels in Kentucky !
Me too!!!!! Ontario (Canada) certainly has them. I'm looking forward to fiddlehead season in a few weeks, too.
I learned a trick from a neighbor, wash the morels and throw the water into a specific spot in your yard. The spores will make morels grow there. I personally seen the patch my neighbor had.I think they're just about everywhere. I bet Kentucky has them. The last house I lived in before we bought this one they grew right in the yard. Up there in harbor springs/ Petoskey area you can find them the size of a soda can. Usually near white pines. Cut them in half, toss in flour, fry in butter.....Never heard that one but I'm going to try it!

I gotta say, the 2 places I found them most, is under or near white pines in sandy soil. And near ash trees. I had a 60acre farm in Northern Michigan and we'd find them in those to areas consistently. Throughout the Petoskey and harbor springs area they were always near white pines. That entire part of Michigan is sandy soil.Yum.
My yard that had so many was all white pines/sandy soil.
Every 'shroomer has his own "they always grow in/by XYZ"......to the point that every possible tree, soil, and terrain type is listed.
My theory?........they grow where they grow and you find them where you find them.![]()

It's probably close to the time they pop up in Kentucky since we have them. Time to go lookingthanks JJ
