A gentleman folder with a safety?

Besides Opinels, there are some other European traditional knives which lock closed (I'd post a pic of my Spanish example, but I'm on my phone right now). I'd also echo what everyone is saying :thumbup:

I carry it for them and open the blunted screwdriver to let them practice cutting. This teaches them how to handle it. When they start to play, I take it away.

This seems like a great way to go about educating a little one.
 
How about a trick knife? But really there's no substitute for education. Let them use the knives here and there under close supervision, it will both educate and help sate their curiosity. That's how I learned with everything from guns to power tools and I still have two eyes and ten fingers.
