Hi,

after Jochen already did show my latest work here, the dinosaur bone/meteorite/wootz folder, I think it is time to step in and show some of my other work I did in the past.

Lets start with a Tanto.
The handle and sheath are made out of one piece elephant ivory.
The handle is carved by myself at both sides
The blade is out of damascus with 1.2 millon layers. With harmon it is 220mm long and 5mm thick while having a cramp made out of copper:

The next knife is an automatic with 85mm long damasteel blade. The handle is made out of RWL43 with mother of pearl inlays. Screws and pusher are again made out of damasteel and the stop bolt is laying inside:

Now I want to show you three folders I made.
The first one has a 105mm stainless wootz blade. The scales are goldlip matched by firecracker mosaic damascus bolsters.
The liners are featherhard titanium with sunburst finish and the over all length is 218 mm:

To be continued in a second post.

This folder comes with a 105mm RWL blade. The bolsters are again RWL with 7 sapphire gemstones mounted in 18kt white gold. The scales are mother of pearl and the liners are out of titanium:

The last folder has again a stainless wootz blade, here 95mm long. The scales are elephant ivory, the mosaic damascus of the bolsters is named „ice crystal“. The liners are again titanium.
The wooden stand is made out of ebony wood from western Africa:

The last knifes I want to show you are two tiny integral neckknifes I recently made.
The material is RWL34, the blade length is 68mm, the handle length is 80mm.
The upper one has tortoise shell scales, the lower one has mother of pearl Blacklip scales.

I hope you like my work, I am open to your comments!
In the future I plan to show my new work here in bladeforums.

Best wishes Steffen

You really do nice work. Some a little too artsy for my taste, but still very nice.
Love the "Ice Crystal" mosaic damascus, really like the whole knife.
The Tanto is exquisite.

You have excellent taste in knife materials.

Hope you become a regular here.

not too artsy for me. I like them all. maybe the one with the sapphires is just a bit too much re the pins and sapphires but overall this is a very nice presentation of very nice looking knives. hope to view more of your work soon

not too artsy for me.

Me either - these are beautiful, elegant pieces that speak to a fine aesthetic sense and a heck of a lot of skill. The tanto is just sublime. Welcome - and thanks for sharing your work here. I do hope to see more.

Roger

I like the style. It's not what we usually see, which makes it all the more interesting. And everything, including the dinosaur - meteorite - wootz, are seriously well-executed.

Steffen, your knives are beautiful and sublime.
I would like to see one of your standard EDC type.

Shawn

I love it. Its really quite good work.

I see Bauhaus as an influence in partiucular the architectural influences in some of the scales and frames.

I see American Art Deco, and perhaps the International syle as well. Its almost like the knives could be items from a parlour in the hey-day of Manhattan development or they could be something William Van Allen sketched as a detail in one of his works.

An interesting thing I noticed is how the texture in the dama-steel seems to compliment the hard linear lines I the rest of the knife. Incredible: its soft and delicate and rough simultaneously.

Are you a fan of Gropius or Klee at all?

Very nice work not to into modern art but your craftsmanship is fantastic. Love the Tanto

Die sind ja alle fantastisch! Woher kommen Sie den?

I hail from Stuttgart, but I've since been 18 years removed. I was born there however and still speak German daily (even if it's rusty ;).

Effing A, man!
