A GHOST has been spotted SH1

I agree with Dennis.
Who ever heard of a knife being made of ATS-34????

piglet
yes they are AtS-34 steel that Jerry used in the early days ive never had any issues with that steel and it does not need to be coated :D very corrosion resitant:thumbup:

Not to rain on anybodys parade but...

you sure the original owner didn't give it a once over with a bead blaster?
Looks a little more worn around the edges of the text.

Either way... congrats... great score!!!

 ... ...

I know its an origianl SH1...
But I thought the "Ghost" SHs were SH IIs with the block Busse logo ghosted out a bit.
Like the ones in Ducci's and Tony G's pics.

Was this re-blasted at the shop?
I do agree that the logo on your SH1 is ghosted,
but from what I understand, a lot of them were.

Again... congrat on a fine piece of Busse history!
The SH1s are what Jerry started with when he started making production knives.

Those slabs on the one you have Foo are beautiful!!!

Thanks for sharing and I am glad you are a show off!!

It was my understanding at the time of Cerificate Issue that the number was as Stated on the Certificate.

I later learned the at least two more had been made and sold in the east.

The Very First one I sold was sold to be a Beater knife, so I consider that one to be gone.

Jerry mentioned at the time of issue that there might be as many as 50 Ghost Busse's
That the Ghost type Logo was used in the Past on a few knives, Mostly SHBMs

I have yet to see any of those, but that is not to say that these Early Stainless Steel Heart are not, I just do not know, you would need to ask Jerry in one of His Moments of Clarity.
