Hey guys,

So, I was talking to Cliff N over on another forum, and he mentioned taking the serrations off the fireman model, and I got to thinking how much I would like to do the same. And well, I did it and here are some pictures.

So, first off what I used first to get the rough shape in place, a Dremel with a fine'ish stone and then a 250 grit paper sander.

Ok, now I've gone over with the dremel and Now I go over with the drill press and a disk sander with a 500 grit paper. this gives its a nice polish and really (after a bit more work it will look nicer) dresses it up, plus this is how I get my convex edge, which it now has.

Now the glory shot, I think I've got a fine EDC going now.:cool:

Now I'll just give it a little more work and I'll have a nice looking knife.
Ha Bushman, wadda think of that!:D

That is cool. Exactly what I want to do with a one-handed Trekker.

How did you attach the pocket clip? I go back and forth on whether I think it would be a good thing.

:o I JB welded a clip from a broken leek.
And it makes it much more convenient, I highly recommend putting one on, I did have it installed with screws, but I was worried about it wearing the plastic around the screw's and falling out.

looks like a good job, and good use of various tools that are not traditionally used for knife modding necessarily.

came out looking pretty good too

For info, Smoky Mt Knife Works has a non-serrated One Handed Trekker cataloged. I guess it is their Christmas catalog? I visited there Thursday and they didn't have any. I was planning on buying one.

Nicely done--I don't really like serrations. How did you prevent the Dremel from heating the blade while grinding it?

I did that same thing to a OHT. I used stones, and did it by hand. Its an awesome MOD. I hear that they are gonna make one without serrations soon......

I did that to my fireman, but I got a OHT and got to liking them so much I gave the fireman to my bro. That curved serrated blade is very useful though.

Without the serrations is the blade much narrower ?

Only a small amount, kida like a normal blade on a Ruksack model.

Kept it on real low, and went very slow on it.

I know, I use min for an orange pealer.:o:D

Looks like they kept the chisel grind, or is it just the picture that doesn't show a bevel?

It really wasn't bad the way it was with the serrations, but I like it better without them.
