Hey guys I have asked for a couple reccomendations already but I have another, if you would all be so kind as to help. I am looking for a good 'beater' knife at a pretty good price $50 or so tops. I need a knife that has pretty decent steel that can take abuse well. thanks for any help

The Sandvik steels are fine. They've been popular in Europe for years, especially as a stainless steel in Scandinavian knives. (The mines are in Sweden.)

(Bill, I'm trying to find the time to post more ... and more and more and more ... :))

Buck 110, Awesome, a little on the heavy side, but you're not likely to hurt it.

The KaBar Dozier folders are great.

Buck 486 Bucklight, it looks like a one handed 110

Buck Vantage, Great knife about $30

A cheap Leatherman maybe
