Regarding the Becker knives, be aware that many people dislike the slipperiness of the Becker handles. If you find them too slippery yourself, the cheap way to solve the problem is to rough them up with sandpaper.

Other options are having the scales bead blasted, filing vertical grooves along the scales, or carving replacement scales from micarta.
 
I love my BK7 and I'm actually one of those odd balls that like the scales that come on it. I have actually removed mine and added survival items inside since they're hollow. The BK7 also comes with a very nice sheath with a nice size pocket for storage. I have a survival mini-kit (altoids can) in the pouch of mine.
