A Good Day Forging...

is better than a good days work.... or something like that. :)

Got a pretty late start Saturday but still managed to get a few hours in forging then finished off tonight.

Got these done, Ht'd and snap tempered but still need proper temper.

My boss found some leaf springs and gave them to me so that is what I used. His son asked if I could make him a hatchet and I wanted one too so I made two! They are 14" OAL.

The Katana is 40.5" OAL for now, The handle may add a couple inches or so and the blade is 28". I decided to practice on the spring before wrecking my W2, think it's all right, needs to be straightened a bit and the curve is a hair over 1CM.

You forged a grease gun?? :eek: You got some hammer talent! :p

The blades look great and I will agree that a day at the forge is better than a lot of things.
