You all know that Im a ColdSteel fan. But can you recommend another brand knife for Carry and defensive purposes? Not alot of funds on this end of the pc.=-)

This is where you start having fun - trying to find another production or even custom knife under $100.00 that is as good as the Cold Steel products. Especially the Master Hunter and the Bush Ranger.
Maybe folders but little comes close to the two fixed blades above.

Coldsteel,
For around $50 you cannot buy a better knife than a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian. The axis lock is the best lock, Bar None!!!! If I had to have one knife and one knife only it would be the mini-grip. (for $50 that is). As sticky says, smooth as butta:D :D If you get one you will not be disappointed, guaranteed. ;) dtsoll

Spyderco FRN Endura (or the slightly smaller Delica). That VG-10 steel is nice stuff, and you also get an ambidextrious pocket-clip.

CRKT M-16 gets my vote. Decent steel, (AUS 8), strong lockup and the Carson flipper. Very fast opener.

What he said.

What about the new Spyderhawk? Imagine an Endura handle with a wicked equally sized serrated hawkbill! Definately a great equalizer.

Knifeworks has a pretty useful feature for shopping within a certain price range. It allows you to see all of the knives they have available within a range with a single click of the mouse.

HERE are all of the knives they have from $31-$45.

I like this one.

The Marzitelli Prowler looks pretty good.

But it is all I can do not to click buy now on that Bud Nealy Pesh-Kabz!!!!

It looks like a way smoother version of my M16-03Z... which ain't a bad knife at all!

Easy: Spyderco Spyderhawk, Spyderco Endura, Benchmade griptillian, Cammillus CUDA EDC all around 50 bucks or less and great EDC knives for defense or working knives.

I didn't know that a Benchmade Mini-Griptilian could be had for $50. I echo the recommendation, though, even if it costs you an extra $15 or $20. (I got a Pre-Production one 'cause it was all the store had, but it's my EDC anyway.) That Axis Lock is something else!

I also like the looks of the Spyderco Renegade, a pic of which was posted. When next I have spare cash for one, I'm going to get one. Either that or an AFCK with a hole.

You also cannot go wrong with a Spyderco Delica, though I don't know just how tough that pointy tip would be under hard use. I love 'em, though, and have several.
