A good place to buy quench oil.

Can you folks recommend a good place to purchase quench oil ? I am looking for Parks AAA, tough quench or Houghton type G. Thanks for your time.
 
Maxam oil is where I have been buying my Parks 50. I paid around 125.00 shipped to my shop for 5 gallons the last time I bought some if I'm remembering correctly.
 
I definitely need to do some looking around because the price I got for 5 gal. of Houghton type G was $250 before shipping. Also what is this I hear about a HAZMAT fee for shipping this stuff?
 
Maxim oil. 817-654-4456, ask for Carla. She's a great help, friendly, and seems to know her stuff.
Parks 50 was around $125 plus shipping. Texas to Connecticut in 5 days.

I know folks have had a hard time finding 50, but she said they'd love to sell to bladesmiths. I'd
bet they stock the oils you're looking for.

Many thanks y'all ! I'll be back on the hunt today. I will give Maxim a call today. You should have seen the look on my wife,s face when I told her I was spending about 300bucks on a bucket of oil.:eek::confused::grumpy::rolleyes: < it was kinda that progression LOL.

Bill, I called Carla at Maxim and you are 100% correct she is very helpful,friendly and certainly knows her stuff. I have a 5 gal. pail of Houghton type G on the way to the shop for $107. THANK YOU!
Also, Many thanks to all who took time to post suggestions.
This also taught me something else,it is better to call and talk to a person than to try wading through a website.

Bill, how long ago was that order? That's what I paid two years ago from Maxim. Can you still get 5 gallon buckets? I had heard rumors that they wouldn't sell small quantities anymore.

Bill, you sure did help! I will take 105 over 250 any day ....well if I'm on the buying end;) Thanks again.
@ i4Marc , I am not positive about the 50 but they had AAA in 5 gal. pails today.
 
I talked with Maxim the other day, and they were out of Parks 50 in the 5-gal pail, but they told me they would email me as soon as they were available. Price quoted was $92.01 for the pail, plus shipping. No HAZMAT fees. I figured it would be $150 to my door.
 
The price for 50 was about 3 weeks ago. Ordered 9/27, shipped out 10/1,
received a couple of days later.

I think they get the oil from Heatbath in Springfield, MA. It's only about 45
minutes from me but as far as I can ascertain they won't sell in small quantities.
Soooo, from MA to TX back to CT. That's the $53 shipping, TX to CT. It'd be
so much easier to drive to MA and get it, but no dice.

Mooseyard, can you let us know when you get the email that the P50 is back in stock?
