good quality is going to be synanomous with "pricy" in most instances, what is your price range?

Well you could go with a buck 110. I really like the Kershaw Junk Yard Dog II, big folder, hefty liner great feel to me. Then there's the Kershaw Blur, Avalanche, Boa(pricey). Then there's the Spyderco endura, which has the steel liners now in the newer gen and feels much heavier. Columbia river has there Kit Karson design and say the M21, M1 or desert cruiser? They are pretty hefty folders. Usually hefty folders cost more.

I think you can get a manix for a little more than 100. it'd be worth it in my opinion.

If the Manix is the closest to what you're looking for, perhaps you should buy it - if it's at all within your budget.

It may be pricey but it's a great product.
And its price is justified by what you receive in return.

Some very good dealers, in no particular order, are:

www.newgraham.com
www.gpknives.com
www.knifecenter.com

The knife in your picture uses the handle from crawford/kasper. It's an mtech, so not great.

You can see CRKT's crawford/kasper model with that handle here

I wouldn't call the crkt a good knife either. The steel is particularly awful. If I had $100 to spend on a stout folder I'd look @ spyderco, kershaw, buck or benchmade on newgraham.com

Spyderco:
Endura
Delica
Military

Benchmade:
550/556 Griptillian (mini or full)
one of their 2007 cheaper axis locks
615
520
710 (In fact, the 710 is the answer to a lot of problems)

Buck:
110

Kershaw:
Cyclone
Junkyard dog II
Speed bump

i like the junk yard dog II cyclone and M1 and the only manix's i can find for 100 are serrated

Well I'll go out on a limb and tell ya to pick up the CRKT Crawford Falcon folder. It is pretty cheap but not a cheaply made knife at all. Has the Lawks which I can take or leave but it is added security to guard against the blade closing. It uses a nice thick piece of steel, not the best steel mind you but the knife is easy to sharpen and seems to stay sharp doing edc stuff with it. The liner lock is nice and thick and hits right where it should hit. The blade grinds are crisp and all straight, the handle is heavy which I like and feels good to my hand at least. Last but not least it is big too which I like. Blade deploys like it is on ball bearings.

I'll tell ya the more I carry it the more I like it. Again not the best steel out there but I think the build quality of the knife more than makes up for the cheap steel. Like I said it takes a scary edge and seems to hold it pretty good. I have had it for a good 2 wks and the only thing I have done is strop the edge, haven't even sharpened it. Anyways to save some dough and get a well built and designed knife look around for one. You might be surprised with what you find. keepem sharp

Anyone of these will fit your needs. :D

But they are all over the one bill mark..............but a good blade normally has a heavy price tag. Save and get what you really want.

The Manix isn't pricy when you consider it will perform just as well as the CR Sebenza, The Strider AR, and ZT knives alike. I personally think the Spyderco Manix and Benchmade Rukus are the two best choice on the market right now for the perfect folder. You just gotta decide which size is best for you between the fullsized and mini of each model. I settled on the Manix... perfect folding knife as far as I'm concerned for now.

Heres a buck strider 881 tan-toe ;) and a Mini Manix. The 881 was reworked by me. Both can be had for under one bill. You might have to look for a 881 "tan-toe" though. :D

Kershaw has a new Lahar out under a under $100

Or BM Skirmish at about $150
