A good watch and a lighter

How does Orient compare to Invicta? Amazon has them on a Black Friday sale.
Hmm. Over on Watchuseek, there are a ton of people who are happy with their Orient watches, and lots who are happy with their Invictas. However, Invicta often gets bashed for: bad QC, bad CS, and ripoff designs.
Orient seems to be consistently good... Invicta can be hit or miss.
This is just based on what I've read, however.
...You want a watch that will NOT leak? Get yourself a Citizen 300m "Ecozilla".
This one is cheaper and doesn't look like you have Terminator puke strapped to your wrist. :D

Just kidding, I like the 'Zilla. But I can one-up you on WR... my Superocean Steelfish can go down to 2,000 meters, and is saturation safe.
Ironically, the bracelet does not have a diver's extension.

Tough to go wrong with the Seiko Monster. Mechanical movement (no battery). Tough case, band, and crystal. Very reliable. And, $150 or so if you shop around.

SEIKO Kinetic has served me faultesly for 9 years. Doesn't leak, needs no battery, nor winding and is all stainless tough.

Lighters? No point to expensive ones,a few Bics in shrink wrap and you won't need anything else.

I went on a "high end" watch kick for a while (thankfully a SHORT while) and ended up right where I started. Wearing a Casio G shock. Cannot recommend them highly enough. They are the Spyderco Endura of the timekeeping world. They got 'em in analog now too. Totally bulletproof. Don't know about lighters. Back when I smoked I usually carried a full sized Bic. Haven't carried a lighter since and honestly haven't missed it except when trying to light the torch out at work and someone has ran off with the stryker, in which case I simply turn on the welder and scrape the electrode across the metal workbench, using the resulting sparks to ignite the flame. :grumpy:

If you want a watch for outdoor ruff use and ability to see in pitch dark get a Luminox. Have been wearing the same one for 15 years.

The second hand fell of my Luminox when it dropped from my nightstand to a carpeted floor. That was enough for me to look elsewhere.

If you're used to using Zippos, I'd recommend picking up one of the butane inserts by Thunderbird. They're neat little lights that give the convenience of butane but offer the style of Zippo that so many people are accustomed with.

The Seiko Orange Monster has a lot going for it at less
than $200; autowinding, 21 jewel movement, 200 meter water
resistance, massive steel case and bracelet, etc.
