• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Some of you may recall little more than a year ago that I located the best friend I had while I served over in Nam. We had a mini reunion last spring and we planned another get together where Gil comes to the northwest. Today is the last day of this visit. The plan was to spend 4 days fishing at one of the high mountain lakes close by but due to the weather we had to cancel that. One of the goals Gil had was to make a knife while he was here and that's what we did. Gil did most the forging of the blade and I did the fine tuning. Gil also did the sheath work with a little guidance. He ended up with a 5 5/8" 1084 blade with wrought iron fittings and and elk stag handle. Overall its 9 5/8".

That's an awesome little knife, way to go Gil!

I bet you guys had a blast Ray. I'm very happy for both of you --- to be reuinted and to rekindle the old friendship/brotherhood. It's such a great story.

Good to see you had a chance to share some good times with an old friend.

Looks like Gil took to knifemaking quickly.

Take care

Charles

Sounds like a great reunion. Times like this are memorable. The knife will make a very nice reminder.
