Alright men, let's talk about knives and wives! What knives were bought for you by your wife or girlfriend?
I'll start: Spyderco Native, Benchmade Griptillian (full size), and Becker Necker. In fact, the Becker Necker is my favorite of all the knives I own.

Christmas, Birthday, Fathers day. I tell her what I want and the best place to get it! Heck I own so many knives she would not know what I want or what I have.

I, on the other hand, buy her jewelry, and am told I have very good taste!!

Wife buys me knives and tools for almost every occation. Her favorite trick, peeking over my shoulder when I'm browsing the AG Russell catalog. If she orders from there, I never have to worry about getting something junky.

Past prizes include:
- Helle Millstone
- Boker Gaucho
- Bear MGC lockback
- MiniBuck 425
- Spyderco Q w/ REI logo
- CRKT Stiff KISS
- DH Russell #2 w/ stag
- Marbles Depression Hunters

Many moons ago, my ex & I were walking the aisles of a gun show (her 1st- very early in our relationship) & I spied a nice boot knife (unknown maker), handled it, decided I didn't have the $ (about $85.00 if memory serves) to spare & walked on- a bit later in the day, she handed it to me. Very Nice. Didn't last.

When I was 23, and a couple months from getting married, I noticed an ad in the paper for MAK 90s (AK-47 variant) for less than $150! I mentioned it in passing to my bride-to-be saying, "You can't buy a new 10-22 for that!"

You should have seen the looks on our wedding guests' faces when, just after the wedding, she comes out (still in wedding dress) with that thing!--a little white flower stuck in the barrel.:thumbup::D:D

Half our guests were cheering, about 1/4 were dazed and the other 1/4 mortified. ---it was a great moment.:D

She won't BUY one just outta fear of getting one I already have or one I don't want.
But she inputs opinions on the ones I do buy.
Like, "I like the wider one better than the skinny one. Get the big one."

Good enuff fer me.

:)

ESPECIALLY when she sez it's my HOBBY an I deserve a new knife. Although that takes some of the fun out of it. :D
Sometimes ya NEED some guilt to make it good.

This summer, my wife bought me a TiNives 4.25 auto and a small Sebenza. She is a keeper!

A good woman will buy you knives ... but an even better woman will pay for it out of her own paycheck, cook most the meals, do the housework, defend you through thick and thin, and always be happy to give it up whenever you want. :)

These are ones she bought for me, not counting the ones she encouraged me to buy. It's hard to fight my own temptations, let alone her added encouragement.

Buck Crosslock
Dozier Master Hunter
Busse BATAC
Buck Custom 110
Weidmannsheil Damascus fixed
Kershaw Boa
Ruger Red Label Quail Special
Browning White Gold Medallion (with Leupold VXIII !!)
Glock 23
Cabela's do-it-all Goretex parka and pants
Vizsla pointer!
German Shorthaired pointer!

She will often say "If you don't buy it, I will". Quite a lady in so many ways....:):):) ss.

My fiancée brought me back a SAK officer from the plant in Switzerland when she went on vacation to Europe. I has My name and Switzerland on one side and a picture of the swiss alps on the other a really awesome piece.

My wife is awesome!! She has bought me several knives including a Dozier wilderness, a Randall 8-4, at least 20-30 slipjoints, and next week I take delivery on a Randall 1-6 with black micarta handle that is a late birthday gift.

My wife is the best. She's bought me numerous knives, including the small Sebenza I EDC. A few months ago she said, "Why don't you buy that Edge Pro you're always talking about. So I did. Then a couple of weeks ago she said, "Why don't you get yourself a power sharpener (belt sander) so you can sharpen knives in the neighborhood and make a little money. So I did. Just today I was cruising the for sale forum and say a Bark River I wanted. "Go ahead and get it!" Who am I to argue? She's a goddess!

That's one of the GREATEST STORIES I'VE EVER HEARD!

AND guns! My first slippie was from my wife while we were dating. Since she has given me a couple knives including a Leatherman Wave and a SAK Pioneer. When we got engaged, there was a Ruger #1 in 45/70 with a Zeiss Scope and a Filson bag in a closet in an unused bedroom in my house that she had stashed away for me.

YES, She will!! Because she will love you and what you love. She will only expect that you afford her the same consideration. 27 years now, I remember the dates and still have them all. I won't bore you with the list, just a taste.
1980 Case stag Cheetah
1981 Pacific Cutlery Balisong Ivory Micarta
1982 Paul Knives in Cocobolo and Ivory Micarta
1983 Gerber Silver Knight Pearl Handles
1984 Case stag peanut
1985 Buck folding hunter stag handles
1986 Springer Konig stag
I thank God everyday for providing this blessing. May it come to you all.

Lightweights, the lot of ya! In 2002 the Mrs. and I went to the Las Vegas Classic Knife Show. Sort of a 30th anniversary trip. At the show I got a Koji Hara folder(Best of Show) and a beautiful fixed blade from Anders Hogstrom. Nice score I thought.
After returning to the room in the P.M. I told her I was going to Blanchards Cutlery just to poke around. After I returned i told her of a beautifully engraved Damascus/ titanium folder Gary was showing to a customer when I arrived. I told her it was $1800.00. and she says, "go get it!" I said "are you kidding?' When she said no I was out and back in 40 minutes with a new classy gents art folder. What a gal.
