The pocket clip on my Pacific Salt is without a doubt the most resilient and useful clip on any of my folding knives, production or custom. I wanted to drop a line about it, wondering if it's just in my case alone, or if others are experiencing the same thing.
While I like the wire-type clips like those of my Native III and Caly3, this regular clip is just fantastic. The coating has not worn off---a problem with many of those on my other knives. It seems thicker, almost like a baked-on epoxy instead of just a regular coating. Also, the clip hasn't seemed to loosen up with time---and I've used (and maybe slightly, occassionally, abused) the knife for about two years now. The only signs of wear are at the very ends of the clip where it is rounded. Despite it being attached to the thick edges of PFDs, pack hip belts, overalls, and all the many things in between, it retains the knife well, important for many of the outdoor activities I participate in.
I just wanted to thank whoever designed the clip, and just share my simple story of how a simple detail made my knife so much more enjoyable to use. Thanks Mr. Glesser and all of you at Golden.
God bless.
