A new Gold Member of the Buck Forum who has shared a lot of very Rare and Unique knives with us and his valuable knowledge has decided not participate in the Forum any longer. The reason, he posted a couple of non-Buck photo's on the SPS and said that if it was wrong he would remove them. When it was brought to his attention by ITE he apologized and said he wouldn't do it again. Everything was fine. Then a certain moderator came on and not only chastised him publically for it, and then called his 1873 US Military Trowel Bayonet, 1880 US Military Hunting Knife, 1880 US Military Intrenching Tool, "Brick Laying Tools"!!! What an insult!!! For months we have endured a couple of members doing their best to start trouble with anybody they could on this forum and it took an act of God to get rid of one, one is still present, and all of that was done behind closed doors, but yet a contributing member wanted to show off his newly acquired US Military artifacts and didn't have Buck knife in it, he was publically humiliated by certain moderator who has since removed the comment.

This particular moderator has been guilty of this same behavior in the past.

I'm ashamed this has happened since I was the one that convinced him to come on this forum in the first place. After this incident and the other one I mentioned, I'm not sure I want to participate either.

What a shame, DP77 you'll be sorely missed...

I know it happens. Wish it didn't but I've seen it happen before. Moderators aren't perfect. They can make a slip too. Perhaps it will get straightened out for another day. DM

He did basically the same thing to me also...

He needs to contact DP77...

missed all that. assume it was on the sps thread? hopefully he will come back and let water go under the bridge. if not shame i enjoyed his pics and information he shared with us all.

I agree with David and jbmonkey, Lets all take a deep breath, take some time to calm down and get back to what we all enjoy.
I know the forum rules regarding this and it has been pretty lax. DP77 is fairly new and most likely did not know the parameters regarding this type of thing and just
needed to be made aware. His contributions to this forum would be missed if he stayed away. I think we all welcome him to stay.

This thread won't be around long.

There are far better ways to express your opinions about forum activities.

Truly unfortunate this happened. Sure hope it gets settled and all concerned can feel OK about it. Preston

don't know any details of what was said. i did see the pics. not saying one was wrong or one was right. imo i prefer to look at buck knives in the buck forum. the poster knew that it was buck knives only because he said he would remove them if not allowed. anyway lot of other forums to post knives of that type. time for all to kiss and makeup, it was only about knives lets get over it. com'on guys.

Injustice: doing time for a crime you didn't commit. not having your knives called bad names.

That wasn't the point. The point is the way it was handled. He had already apologized and said it wouldn't happen again and then the problem jumped in...

When people overreact to criticism of their prized possession...........it just proves that they fear the criticism is correct.......and thus they feel threatened and insecure and angry.

If you have a good sense of self-worth you won't go ballistic when someone else thinks your prized toy is crap.

You also may learn from it and spend your money more wisely the next time.

Tolerating opinions that differ from your own heartfelt views is difficult, but it's all part of growing up.

Unfortunately you need a thick skin if you are active on the internet.

Thought this place was a sanctuary from that kids stuff.
I have no knowledge of the original thread. Sad to hear of it happening here.
