I just read on usn that Rob Simonich died in a car wreak while coming back from a hunting trip. :(

I'm so sorry for his family and the knife community....a great loss.

OMG!!!! Oh no! Is this true? That would be terrible!
If so, the knife community has lost a great guy & great knifemaker & designer. This is terrible news! Sincerest condolences to the family. That is just awful for everyone.
 
I could always depend on him at shows for a great time, a good laugh, and a whole lot of fun. He was a man among men, and a dear friend. This is a huge loss. He would do anything for you, at any time. I know he's with the warriors in his heaven, warmly received.

Jerry Hossom would never have posted something like this without having spoken with the family. I'm sure he is terribly anguished having had to be the one to break the news.

About an hour ago Kristine Simonich called me to tell me Rob had been killed in an auto accident last night, on his way home from a hunt with his brother. I don't know why these things happen to the very best people I know, but the world of knives and my world in particular have lost a brother who can never be replaced. Rob was and will remain a man among men, a very special and talented person.

As I learn more I'll post it.

Please join me in remembering Rob in your prayers.

This can't be true. He will be truly missed among the knife community, as a maker, but more importantly as a friend to many.

That is very sad news indeed. A tragic loss to his family and the knife industry. We'll light a candle for Rob and pray for his family.

I met Rob and his lovely wife a few years ago at the Blade Show in Atlanta. He was a great guy and everyone will miss him. Prayers to his family.

Sorry for the loss of such a great man.

This is an unbelieveable news. He's a good man, and I trust that he is in the better place. My prayer, wishes and heartfelt condolences go to the Simonich family. The knife world has lost another good man again.
 
Right after I typed that, I got a message from Jim off Knifeforums.com :(
