A great loss...

Didn't know Bob; except by the quality of his knives, and by his good reputation; He will be missed........

May God comfort his family and friends in their grief.

I didn't know Rob personally but I knew of the man...my condolenses to his family.

I didn't know Rob personally but all I ever hear is praise towards him. It's truly a sad time

I don't know how I missed this thread, I just found out on Chat that Rob was gone.

Rob, was a truly special person, the kind of person that just made you smile. I first met Rob at Blade 2001, I saw him walking down the hall at the Waverly. I called out to him, "Hiya Rob1" he turned smiled and said, "Do I kow you?" "Well I said we never met in person, but I did put a Pink Tutu on you once." He said, "Phil how the heck are you?" Rob sent me my Guest Pass to this years Blade Show. I'll always remember him having a great time at the show.

I will dearly miss Rob, his talent, his humor, his love of life. He made you feel glad to be around him. My deepest sympathy and prayers go his family and friends.

My wife, and I met Rob at the Oregon Show a couple of years ago at a table he had set up, and we talked for a bit, and then a little later he sold a knife to someone, and he had to fix the sheath, and he asked me if I had a screwdriver, and I pulled my Micra out of my pocket, and handed to him so he could repair the sheath. We talked again, and went our way around the show.
Very nice man to talk to, and you could tell he just loved people, and talking.
A great man who will be missed.
Our condolences to his family.

Terrible news: Rob set me up with my Beaudry Power hammer, he was as good as they come.
We always wanted to set up a cowboy hammerin, complete with branding calves and bronks.

The world of knives will miss him dearly. he was an innovator, honest and shared many good times.
My sincere sympathies and prayers for him and his family.

This account is Chuck's but this is Brenda Bybee. I am writing in behalf of our entire family. We are feeling a great sense of loss.

We feel being in the knife community is like being part of a family and going to knife show is like going to family reunion.

Rob Simonich was a brother and a favorite uncle that we always looked forward to seeing at our reunions. We first got to know Rob at the Oregon Knife Shows. We were fortunate to have him at the table next to us for several years.

He was an intelligent man with a kind heart. He always took time to listen to others and we never heard him be critical of others. He sincerely helped others when asked. He also was a very funny guy. The kind of boy, who if you sat next to him in school, you were sure to get in trouble with for laughing when you weren’t supposed to be.

We have many great memories of Rob.

We will miss him.

We pray that Rob's family will be comforted.

Chuck, Brenda and Jessica Bybee

My wife Val and I send our sympathies condolences to the Simonich family as well.

Seems the good die young.
