A Great Package from Abroad!

4th, but not least:p, this knife is special and Joyous!! Again quoting Achille,
"We have the Laguiole with a carbon forged blade by Davide Steri ( K720 BÖHLER steel ) . The handle is in ebony and it has been built by Pierre Yves Joyeux!! " :)
Italian artisanship blended with French; just like it's procurer!!
Such a great piece of cutlery!!:DFrance D 1.jpg France D 2.jpg France D 3.jpg
Thanks JP and J-M, for chiming in and setting me straight!!
And J-M for finding these nice pieces for me!!

Can you please do some testing and let us know how well that works as a wine bottle opener? :D

It seems like that big blade sticking out may make pulling the cork out a bit painful. o_O
All the pull to extract a cork is 'fingers along the bottom edge', Viper, actually quite comfortable! Well engineered IMO!!

Seahorse was Arthaud 's of Thiers trademark, now extinct since years. A few makers still make both patterns.

Not to derail the thread, but a question for Jolipapa. Did another company buy the rights to the Seahorse brand? I bought a fairly cheap Laguoile from Lee Valley Tools. It has the seahorse and Laguiole stamped on the blade. On the tang is stamped 12 C 27 over FRANCE. The quality is nowhere near the quality of Charlie's Arthaud. The box said ARTOO on it.

Around 2010 Arthaud-Chosson (created 1937) was sold and the name changed to Arto (https://arto1937.blogspot.com/p/couteaux.html), but the cy declared bankruptcy due to poor management and quality. Arto used also the seahorse. You can find NOS from time to time.

Recently the owner went back into the cutlery business under the LUG name.
