A Green Coconut tarnished my blade.

It's great to see a blade that is getting used (it's like holster wear on a pistol...looks good IMHO).

However, I know it is surprising when you see a change in the blade appearance that quickly after such short exposure to the coconut.
 
Wow. I guess there really are guys like this. Use the knife and forget about the staining. Geezuz K riste.
 
For the record, I think you're a good sport, leukhardt. Posting a "mayday" is bound to get some ribbing, no matter what the topic is!:D

Great thread! I just researched acidity in coconuts and found out that coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than cane sugar....which is great news for diabetics! I'm not diabetic, but I have friends that are. I know they will value this information.
 
Ironically Leukhardt, now all these dudes that've been slathering on mustard and salsa and Tabasco sauce, stabbing pinapples and poking potatoes trying to force a patina, are now going to go out and buy a bunch of coconuts. You may well have given a boost to the coconut industry.

Yep! You can't chop the ever lovin' shi* out of a bottle of tabasco and get the same results!
