A growing (grudgingly) respect for the lowly Mora!

I naturally end up with a slight convex edge on mine, sharpening on japanese water stones. Last time I set out to try not to lift the blade at all and convex it and still ended up with the edge more polished than the rest of the bevel. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Whatever the case, it's the sharpest edge I've ever created.

Everyone who freehand sharpens should have a mora ... even if you don't want to use them (which you will), that big bevel is a great trainer for keeping a good angle.

I picked up a 711 and 911 after stating off with a clipper. Looked like those two had a beefier tang, and they have a the thicker blade. The 711's handle is my favorite.

i have a neverlost and the bushcraft triflex, and i love them! i may sell my 'more expensive' blades but not a single Mora. every knives may come and go but a Mora stays in me :)

Mrs. Powernoodle used a Mora this morning to clean up our garden which had turned into a jungle. Good stuff.

Buy a Busse. :D
Sorry, couldn't resist.
What's this?

Those who know me know I hate Mora's just about as much as Rick. However, I have used them and found them to be quite up to the task.

A couple of weeks ago I took Rescue Riley's favorite Mora and set out to break it. After literaly hours of battoning with grain and across grain though nasty pieces of frozen seasoned Red Oak, all I accomplished was a cracked handle and a bent blade. I gave Riley 10 bucks for his Mora, and have a new found respect for it.

Dang even Tony is showing some props for the Mora? I need to find cover, the world may be ending! :D

All this talk is going to cause Mora to increase their prices.
Quick. Someone start a thread about how fragile these blades are!
