they must be made in Asia. Who else would go to such trouble to fake a knife and sell it for $25.

It's good someone's posting a heads up on this. I don't buy from the bay (yet) so it's not my concern, but faking Buck knives is a nasty occupation so thanks for exposing it.

I just reported it to ebay as a fraud. Have no idea what they'll do with the report, but I did send it. Thanks for the heads up.

I sent the seller a message and a link to the forum thread also. I got a message back saying "Thanks". The seller didn't change the listing but they have been warned.

I reported it as well. I don't know how many reports it takes before they take notice, but the more the better maybe.

I also reported it.... Ebay's response -

We'll review what you've reported for violations of our replicas, counterfeit items, and unauthorized copies policy. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We'll review the listing or post carefully. If we determine that it violates eBay policy, we may:
-- send the seller a warning
-- remove the listing
-- limit the seller's buying and selling privileges

We usually won't suspend a seller's account unless the seller has violated our policies multiple times. To protect the privacy of our members, we don't share what actions we choose to take.

We may also send your report to the rights owner for review. If the rights owner believes that the item is infringing, they may choose to send eBay a formal request to remove the listing. To find out more about how eBay protects intellectual property, please visit:

Well, the seller didn't sell any and just relisted at a lower price. I guess Ebay doesn't care that it's a fake or they don't believe those that reported it.:grumpy::thumbdn:

Thats right Plumber, bay doesn't care ! Ok, boys Police yourselves out there, yuh hear !
If the seller does nothing it will be swept under the rug . DM

What those lilly liberals care about is the fees they collect. Buyer beware on the Bay. Ask lots of questions and anything coming out of China should receive extra scrutiny.

Liberals!?

Liberals are the ones who try to PROTECT consumers like us, remember?

It's the Republicans who fight against consumer protection.

(Just trying to keep us reality based here.)

;)

Oh.....you're right about the fees, though. Our greedy friends at e-Bay lose money when they shut down the crooks.

I have half a mind to buy one just so I can leave a negative feedback and warn off ony unsuspecting potential buyers. Especially since the seller was told about them. In fact, I think I'll do just that right now.

Off to Ebay.;)

Unfortunately, Plumberdv......they don't care about bad feedback.

They just abandon that identity and get a new one.

In fact, most of the bad guys there routinely operate with 15 or 20 identities.

Could be, but this guy has 676 positive feedbacks and has been a member since '02. I doubt he wants to lose that identity. With a 99.1% positive and 4.7 to 5.0 on all his star ratings, it's hardly a "throwaway" identity.

Stolen identity? Great alibi!! "Honey, i swear, i didn't buy all those knives. Someone must have stolen my e-bay identity". LOL. Happy New Year.

I looked at the feedback and I think this is probably a guy that got a few of these knives cheap and is trying to resell them at a profit.

He hasn't sold any knives before as far as I can see. Seems to sell tools and welding equipment.

Probably hasn't got a clue as to what he's selling and as far as he knows, they are legit.

Or....it's also possible that a family member is using the ID. I kind of doubt now that it would be a stolen ID, however.

Anyhow, I really don't think this guy has any evil intent......he just doesn't know what he's doing.

ebay has been hammered in the past by big companies for selling stuff which was obviously stolen. That got their attention. Small guys selling fakes and stolen stuff doesn't matter to them at all.

They are pretty sleazy in their business model to put it nicely.
