A healthy balance between defense and field work; m43? sirupate? whats your say? :)

I have light weight field sharp edge Amar Singh Thapa in stock.

m43 gets my vote.
for field work it just takes a bit mroe abuse, especially if your technique - wich is crutial for a khuk - is not well trained yet. once you feel comfortable with the m43 then get a lighter one and only bust out the m43 for heavy work. plus it trains your arm muscels and makes girls swoon :)

G'day Yangdu :)

Thats a sweet blade but I've already have the 18' cak that resembles the astk, thanks anyway.

I was wondering if it were possible to make:

* 18.5' Villager Sirupati with white metal fittings and a lanyard hole, dark wood (satissal?) Chiruwa Tang.
* Weight under 570grams
* Im going to need help with the scabbard; what options are there? Field-use bladric prefferable
* No karda and Chakma, a tinder pouch would be nice along with the K/C holes.

I know its a big ask, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

I'm totally with you; that's what the CAK is for :D

im waiting for the next DOTD, hollow grind looks nice but I dont want to chip such a fine blade like the Gelbu; that leaves me the the Siru and Chitilangi.
M43 still in consideration but from what I've read the weight has gone up over the years.
Howard Wallace is very wise to ask you those questions:
"What is your life like? Where do you live and how? How big are you?
In the past Nepali Kamis made Kukris to fit the person and the customer would tell the Kami what they wanted the knife for. No mass production there. You can have Special ordered Kukris more suited to your needs made by HI. It doesn't cost anymore than a full priced Kukri. Ask Auntie about it. Hope you find what your looking for.

I have a chit very nice fast blade!

There was a review by a MA guy on the Sirupati's a good while back. He was flat out blown away by the siru's performance. He found the 18" siru's cut as well as a full size katana...the 15" siru's outperformed an 18" wakizashi.
I think the shearing angled blade of the basic Kukri design with always out cut/chop a push cut design of similar weights. To compare the Japanese thin single purpose design Katana/Wakizashi blade with the multipurpose thicker Kukri is unfair. It is like an apples to oranges comparison.

Well its official; I've ordered the Sirupate! now for the waiting game. I'll let you all know how it turns out :)
