Here is another hobbit knife. This one I call 'Robin Smallburrow's Shirriff knife'. (Robin was chastised by Gamgee for participating in the Shire catastrophe. You know the one.. the guy who became a shirriff just to hit the pubs.) The blade is 19th century anchor chain wrought iron combined with 1075 tool steel. The handle is moose antler and white oak burl salvaged by divers from the bottom of Lake Superior. The blade length is 3.5" and the overall length is 8". The sheath comes with one of my 'netsuke' which is intended to be inserted through a belt or belt loop as the carry method. An idea stolen from Japanese traditional dress. The spoon is carved from local hop hornbeam. The runes say shirriff in Old English.
