When I previously posted pics about the modified promontory peg deadfall, some people commented that they still thought they could make a figure 4 trap in the same time.
I think some might have thought that the parts needed to be carved etc but that isn't the case.
I decided to make a quick vid today showing just how quick the trap is to make using just a stick and some cedar root cordage. I made two mistakes today, one was trying to set up the trap on a wet slippery surface and the second was using a weight that was much heavier than needed and very unbalanced.
You will see that I did set it once but it was nowhere near sensitive enough. I realised it just wasn't going to happen with that weight today so I stopped filming, I would have had just the same problem with a figure 4 using that weight.
I hope it still shows how quick the parts are to set up !
