A hunter and a fighter

I recently had the opportunity to take some classes from Tim Hancock. I got to spend six days filled with non-stop knife making and Travis's Hammer in shenanigans. Needless to say I had a blast and learned a ton. I wanted to bring a couple knives for him to critique and these are what I brought. The first is a ladder pattern fighter with Stab. Curly Koa. Blade is 10 1/4", OAL 15 1/4". The second is a 52100 hunter with polished clip and stab. maple burl. Blade is 4 7/8", OAL 9 1/2". Hope you like em'.

Beautifully clean work, as always Mike! But I really like that hunter.

By the way, what type of tool do you use to make those scratches on the ricasso look like lint? :p:)

Those are both great. The lines are so sharp I bet the pictures could cut. The blued ladder damascus really looks good.

you have figured out some of Tim's grind techniques. I love the fighter and the matching of the pattern of the blade to the wood pattern is absolutely perfect. well, done!!

Holy crap dude!!!     :D

Just for clarity--- Mike had already made these before going to Tim's. I'm scared to see what he comes with now AFTER his visit.

fantastic work, Mike:thumbup:

Those are wonderful. I have been really digging your blades lately. I don't know if you have been influenced by Tim but I see him a bit in your choil and blade designs.

I knew you wouldnt disappoint. These are as clean and crisp as I've ever seen.
What did you make at Tims?

Wow Mike. Super crisp lines and that point on the fighter... Yikes!!!

Way to go!! As Nick said, if these are the before, then I better save my 's for the next ones you show. :p
