A hunter and a fighter

Very clean, the grinds on the fighter look fabulous and the hunter is just great. I like both.

Thank you for all the kind words.

Murray, I try really hard to mimic Tim's grinding technique but still have a way to go. As for the wood and the damascus, let me just say It's better to be lucky than good.:D

Jonathan, I have always been drawn to the crisp lines and proportions of Tim's knives. When you look at a Hancock knife it looks visually balanced and is easy on the eyes. I have studied his and other makers knives for characteristics that flow. Sometimes I get it right sometimes I don't. It's all in the little details.

Bruce, we didn't make a thing. We went over lots of little things. The man is amazing to say the least. A phenomenal teacher.

Gday Mike,
Very nice mate, your work at a JS level inspires me to put in that little extra effort:thumbup:
Cheers Bruce

They BOTH look great Mike. The damascus is AWESOME on the fighter, the hunter has a CLEAN look, and that burl is SWEET!

Peter

I just had to come back for another look! :D

Mike is a fantastic and humble knife maker, and I am very glad to be able to say that we have become friends. It's funny...we've never stepped foot in one anothers' shops... yet we still do MANY things the same way.

It may be a bit hypocritical for me to say, as I curtail comments from folks saying this about me- But I feel it's very safe to say that Mike's work is easily at an Ms level. You can't hide stuff in photos like these, and Mike's stuff is just absurdly clean.

If there was ever a guy that will make people say, "Damn I should have bought one of his knives before EVERYONE caught on to him!"...... Then that has to be Mike.  :)

BTW- I forgot to mention---- I bet that "beauty queen" would do a fine job to help process a big buck or a big bull elk. :foot: ;) :D

Both are very clean yet beautiful knives.
I got to meet Mike in Boise and handle some of his knives. Not only do they look great, but they are very comfortable to hold and well balanced. I was holding an integral knife Mike made and just after it was set back down on the table, the guy who had been standing next to me bought it.

I hope to see you in April at the Oregon show Mike. If you are coming let me know and I will save something special for you.
