Did anyone ever get "Cherry Bombs"? They were the size of a good sized cherry, and water resistant!
And if you lit them and threw them into water, they still went off!
Lotta dubious mischief went down in those days!!

We had Silver Salutes as well Gary (M80 like). We'd pack em in mud and drop off the dock and the concussion would send Perch to the surface

Cherry bombs and M80s. I could tell some stories!

Made a cool underwater depth charge. One of my buddies threw one out the back door window of a car, it bounced back off the window and blew a nice hole in the seat. My dad was not impressed.

Couldn’t hear for hours.

I can't really remember carrying anything in my pockets when I was a kid. Maybe if I found some money on the sidewalk. The 1980's left the 1970's in a fog. Stupid teen years those 80's were. I know I had a key to the house and maybe some chapstick that got washed all the time.
