A kit I am putting together

Although I love the Idea of home making a bag and have done this in the past myself, its really cheap to get a military surplus shoulder bag check out www.sportsmansguide.com

My only problem with this company is that you often have to purchase multiple items, like 3 bags for 10$ istead on one for 3$,

I know what you mean! I was thinking of getting one of the Swedish rucksacks, but I needed 1 for $10, not 3 for $30...

What we need to do is put together a co-op where we get together a few folks on the site who want a product and order it then distribute it. I like the swiss canteens with cups but I dont need 20 for 12$

Haha, I was looking at the same item. I'd absolutely be down for a set-up like that. We could get some amazingly cheap gear, and more items to choose from since we won't have to buy eight. I'm not sure how we'd have to work it. I guess a single 'buyer' to whom we would pay and receive items from?

over night kit. 75 feet braided para cord GI canteen. Stainless steel GI cup. MOLLE canteen cover. 2 tic tac containers with fishing stuff ( 30' 6lbs test, size 10 and 6 hooks, splitshot, and a couple flies) water purification tabs, Cold steel Master Hunter on belt, and Kukri over my sholder. the whole thing fits in the MOLLE system and the kukri goes over my sholder attached to the braided paracord.

Any Trail Mix or power bars?
I ask because IF I have to live on fish, I have an excellent last use for the paracord.

actually i tipically do take a couple cliff bars in my pocket along with edible plant book (most valuable Item after kukri). its amazing what you can find with a short walk from your camp (Ex. Saw palmetto (taste kinda like artachoke), spurge nettle, solomons seal, cat tails.)

Does anyone make a canteen made out of the same stuff they make Nalgene bottles out of?

I want something to replace the old USGI canteen without the plastic smell / taste, but still fit inside the cup and pouch

Which Kuk do you favor.
I had the CS mini Ghurka and gave it up for the full size version. Would live a Blackjack Rheinhardt but nobody's giving them up.

I really like the BK Camp Magnum for all around camp and hiking duties, it does not have the chopping weight of a Kuk but it does a great job on veggies and pot meat.

I bought a bag of 20 East German canteens/cup for $20, I hand them out to friends. I also carry the USGI 1qt canteen and cup, a couple of 2qt when needed. My philosophy is military gear is made for the most extreme conditions (war) and will hold up to anything I'll run into, had to hump it in the Army before so am used to the stuff anyway
