A knife for a outdoorsman

Not exactly what you need but very close. This is a pic of the Mini Alpha Hunter next to a Buck 110:

The Alpha Dorado is just about the exact same size as the Mini Alpha in the handle dimensions/profile and overall length. The blade is just a little narrower, spine-to-edge and maybe 1/8" less cutting edge length. Nice knives, I like mine.

(P.S. If you get the leather sheath with the Dorado, a little wet-forming will go a long way to making it a lot more functional.)

Blue Sky brings up a good point - the sheath with the Alpha Dorado is a POS. I carry mine in my pocket.

Here you go, th. The flashlight is a Fenix L2D, the multi is a Vic Spirit and it's also with a Spyderco Manix and a Benchmade AFCK.

Thanks doc that picture works great for scale reference.
And strangely now i want a Vic Spirit too!
lol!
No more knives for me this year though, got my Byrd Wings last week (plus another).
I will have to post pics soon!
:)

The TK3 is about perfect though and the blade steel is a big selling point, any thoughts on 3G steel?
I've been using the TK3 (cocobolo version) for close to four years now.

It has seen use in skinning animals, cleaning a ton of fish (in both fresh and salt water), whittling seasoned harwood and general around the campsite cutting.

I am VERY impressed with the 3G steel in general and the TK3 in particular. It takes a wicked edge and holds it really well, with no evidence to date that the edge is brittle. In my experience 3G will hold its edge for twice as long as VG10 (which is no slouch in this area either :D).

It also has good corrosion resistance and there is zero blade play after nearly four years of use.

BTW, my fixed blade of choice is the H1 in 3G

Hope this helps.

Kind regards
Mick
