A Knife from Dad

My grandpa died when I was about 7, and my dad really took it hard. I didn't know it at the time but I also lost him too. The knife my grandpa had in his pocket when he died was a yellow vic classic, and my dad gave it to me when I was about 11 , I'm sure it meant way more to my dad that it did to me at the time but I'm definitely glad to have it. It's well sharpened and has some blade play, so I may have to buy a brand new one in yellow to drop in my pocket. I don't really think it will be enough knife for me but who knows , it certainly served him well.

Anyway that's a great story and a great old knife you have there 👍

RDaneel, thank you very much for sharing this.

I hope it's a long time before my dad's knife gets passed on. He's a one knife man, and only gets a new one when the old one is shot. I believe he's carrying the 3rd knife in my lifetime, and I was born before Reagan was president. He uses his knife for EVERYTHING. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've said "you can't do that with your knife" - and was wrong every time.
