I love reading all of the posts on this forum. Everyone posts great pics of knives in their collection, but in many cases we focus on knives that we carry depending on our mood. Which brings me to the purpose of this post. Please post a pic or comment about a knife that you love, one that has a special meaning to you. Either a gift or something handed down. A knife that if you put a different one in your pocket when you walked out the door in the morning you would leave feeling guilty, like something was missing. A knife that you don't just use to cut your lunch, but to skin game, one that helps you with the daily chores. A knife that has walked hundreds of miles with you riding in your pocket, gone on adventures and has a story to tell. I want to give my son a knife that tells a story every time he picks it up. One that has been with me for years. So please not one that you put in your pocket every other week, but one that you can never put down.

I really need to get a picture of it, but this fits my Buck 110 exactly. I got it on what I believe was my eighth or ninth birthday, and I carried it pretty much every day from then until the middle of last year, when it had just gotten too loose and worn out to keep using. I didn't want to send it in to get repaired because it just has so much character and memories the way it is. I carried it for over ten years cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, working around the house and generally growing up outdoors, and it got used for everything. I always had a second knife, sometimes it was a SAK or when I used the belt pouch it was a modern one-hander clipped in my pocket, but that 110 was always with me one way or another, and I'd always used it when I needed a knife I could depend on. Now I'm looking to modernize a new one so I can carry it clipped in my pocket since the place for a belt knife is taken up by a Mora Electrician at work. My 110 has always been there, so I know exactly what you mean.

Good to see you around Fes

I carried this Vic Mauser every day for nigh on 10 years. It's walked thousands of miles with me, gutted fish, skinned rabbits, cut staffs, opened cans, and uncorked and uncapped more bottles than I can remember :)

The GEC #66 Serpentine Jack could be this kind of knife for me. It hasn´t left me for some months, even years as I carried it 5 of 7 days. But it is not with me every single day. At least not on my person. It is perfect in shape, length, width, selection of blades and material overall. When I get a new knife, I always use to compare it with the GEC #66; no matter what other size and shape etc etc. I put it next to a Congress and even next to LM Rebar. Each of the very different animals, nevertheless great in their own "business". Every knife I get, own or would like to own is always in comparison and challenge with this one very knife. I just ask myself why I bought all those other beauties - propably one of those knife knut things that are impossible to explain; except you got the same disease... :eagerness: :hopelessness: :devilish:

In the past, before I had acquired an abundance of sharp things I didn't have a lot of disposable income and carried a Vic Farmer (red alox) for 8-10 years religiously until I sadly lost it, then replaced it with a Vic Rucksack that I carried for about 8 years through around 40+ states and 10+countries until it was unfortunately stolen, carried a Opinel for many, many years as a reliable do all knife, but you are looking for a knife that has meaning and these were all tools, so for me without a doubt it would be my Case Chestnut Peanut, it definitely has a significant meaning and emotional attachment that goes along with it, it's been in my pocket every day without fail for 3 years 3 months and 16 days (or 1193 days) it was gifted to me by my daughter who was 24 days old at the time. When I received the nut I said I will always carry it and thought of it as a cool little knife but more as a trinket/good luck charm as I was use to larger knives, Opinel #9, Laguiole, large stockman and Moose which were my normal carry at the time. I started finding myself reaching in my pocket more and more and getting some odd pleasure out of using such a small knife but also it meant something more to me than any other knife, I cherished it. The little knife started taking on larger task, meal prep, whittling, carpentry, all sorts of mundane fix it task etc. it even became my favorite fishing knife, it brought me back to my childhood when I carried a Case 6201 and all the things I put that little knife through and it still survives today, besides how much knife is needed to cut 6# test and the only fish I keep to eat are crappies and the clip blade guts them quick. After about 5 months of carry I started googling Case Peanut and it brought me here to the forum, and found Carl's tales, and other folks experience with the unassuming peanut that reflected my recent discovery of my trinket/good luck charm that also functions as a viable tool.
Here it is earned natural patina and naturally pocket worn scales assisting in pest and varmint duty

Legandary Mauser, Jack!
Your Mighty Peanut is as well legandary, Pete!

Love 'em pics!

A year ago, a traditional was not even a thought as an EDC.
It's been my AGR Sowbelly in Brown Rucarta.
A very nice Snake-Jack there, Andi.

The Victorinox Adventurer is the one knife that I miss if I don't have it with me every day. Been carring that particular model for years after upsizing to the 111mm SAK.

I haven't been in the knife business as long as some here, but this 23 has been my companion for 259 straight days and counting. I don't see that streak coming to an end any time soon. I do carry other knives, but this is the knife for me. It not only takes care of 95% of my cutting tasks, it also makes a great worry stone. Many times I don't even realize it's in my hand until somebody asks what I'm playing with and I realize I've been fondling it for minutes, or sometimes hours.

The #23 is a great knife. I prefer the #42 for my general use, but it just has not quite caught on with my psyche as the Vic mentioned above.

Excellent stories and beautiful knives! We don't get to see many pics of the ones carried every day because they might not be as "pretty" as they once were but they certainly show a great deal of character

Until a few weeks ago, my Victorinox Pioneer was my everyday knife for about 5 years straight. Every work day. Every camping trip. Every day out fishing. Every day of yard work. Mending everything that my young daughter had left in tatters. The flat head screwdriver tightened the bolts on the toilet seat a hundred times. The philips driver helped to change batteries in a billion toys. House repairs like you would not believe. Absolutely tons of memories and even more cuts made. In a few months, when I come back to my senses, it'll probably become my EDC for another five years.

I even bought it used off of ePray. So who knows how many days it was carried by somebody else before it got to me. It's an insanely useful and reliable tool. It's the scout pattern perfected.

I actually prefer the Wenger Standard Issue over the Pioneer, because of the bail and the hollow rivet on the SI. I told myself that I'd switch over to a Wenger SI when I wore out the old red Pioneer. But it doesn't look like this knife is going to wear out before I do. It's virtually indestructible, and only takes a few swipes on a strop to bring back to hair popping sharpness.

Thanks Andi, as you know I share your love of the 66 and I'm grateful to you I got one. I also share your thoughts on Pete's Peanut, he really has shown us some great pics of it over the years, and I'm very proud of the Ka-bar Peanut he gifted me :)

For the last several years, this is the one that I have decided must be my life companion. Others get rotated in, but I go back to this one the most often.

This 110 was carried for approx. 8 years. It has helped me clean so many types of game, fish, helped prepare countless meals in the mountains camping or hunting, its helped dig out tons of splinters and thorns, and tons of other little tasks throughout day to day life. It was MY knife, and I never went anywhere without it. It truly has been a good companion, and a trusted friend. I have always been a fan of Case knives though, and I had expressed many times about wanting a yellow trapper to various people over time, but I never bought one because I had my knife and I was fine with it. We'll last year my lovely lady decided to gift me none other than this yellow trapper below, and it started somewhat of a mild obsession with Case Knives. Nothing crazy at all but I've bought more than a few for sure. Every knife I have sees pocket time, but that yellow trapper is with me everyday like my Buck was, and we're becoming very good friends.
