A knife that, upon you receiving it, surpassed your expectations...

For me it was this Ashley's Choice lambsfoot. The lambfoot pattern itself exceeded my expectations, but the Ashley's Choice took awhile to convince me as such. I actually had one that I foolishly sold away when I needed to pay some bills. It had some rough action at first and it had a slightly uneven grind and the stag wasn't matched perfectly, but then I just missed having that small, useful blade with the really interesting and comfortable stag. A kind forum member was kind enough to sell me one of his and I've never looked back. This little knife does everything you could ask in a small EDC, and it is a pleasure to look at and fondle as well. Definitely one that exceeds expectations--at least the expectations of a foolish bloke like me!

This GEC Powderhorn was bought on a whim back when they were sitting on dealer shelves for months. I just wanted to try it out and see what I thought about it. It quickly became a personal favorite and spent five or six years in my pocket, and still gets carried from time to time, but for a long time, it was a true every day carry. No idea why it tripped my trigger for so long, but even now, it could be my one and only and I would be happy with it.

I’ve told Jack many times, and now I’ll tell you… I absolutely love the AC lambsfoot! One of my all time favorite knives to see posted on this forum! I was too new and uninformed around here when they were made, but one of the knives I most adore!

Thanks! Also, Ashley Harrison is still making knives and usually posts his stuff on Instagram. I don't know if he has open books, but I've seen him making some stag lambsfoots.

I was given the impression that the western 628 was about too small to be very practical.

It arrived and I discovered it to actually be about the perfect sized belt knife for daily use.

It is definitely a modestly sized B&T knife , but has not proven too small for me.
It's hell on a nice steak too, and doesn't draw attention if I choose to use it instead of the worthlessly dull " steak knife " provided by a restaurant.
