Went out of the house this morning without my trusty SAK in my pocket (or alternate carry, Schrade Old Timer) and I felt off balance all day. OK, I wasn't exactly knifeless since I had the Buck Strider in my jacket pocket, the Blackjack Campanion (original) and a CS med. Twistmaster in the truck, plus the F1 in my briefcase.) But it felt odd every time I went to fish out my pocket carry. Anyone else get that nagging 'something missing' feeling when you've forgotten your EDC?

when I forget to bring a knife. And I tend to have spares in the cars, but still...I feel naked without one. Even at home I tend to have one in my pocket.

I feel so..empty...weak.....duno..odd without my knife around. It's just a cheap fixed blade dagger but I feel more comfortable carrying it

I thought we actually has a knifeless knife knut here by the title, I was ready to collect your address so I can send you a complimentary NIB Sebenza, but since I see you own a few knives ;)

If that means, in order for you to be knifeless, your going to send me your entire collection. Steak knives and all :D

I carry too many to ever be knifeless...even if they get all my clothes off, there's still one around my neck...

I carry a small folder all the time and a 4" blade Mora most of the time.

Number three - Which knife do you favor for a neck knife?

I would probably never be totally knifeless because I carry several but I feel your pain.

If I'm without my primary carry for even an hour with my right pocket (or the right side of my undershorts) empty I get nervous.
I feel every bit as naked as I do when I'm not wearing a watch.

Although...
I've had dreams of being in public without pants but I've NEVER had a dream about being without a knife.

SO...
Maybe pants ARE more important to have than a knife?:o

I normally carry four while at work in the real world, a Buck stockman, Leatherman Wave, CRKT neck Peck, and Kershaw linerlock. Currently just carry 3 here, Camillus ArcLite CRKT Raven and Leatherman Wave. Must have all of them on me before going out the door even though there are ones in the car or toolbox.

Maybe I am a little obsessive??

Funny, it isn't the SAK that gets me. It usually the Multitool that gets me. Good thing I got a good sheath from Normark so that I rarely forget.

Pentlatch, I love neckknives and own 6 of them, but the one I now find myself wearing most often is a Simonich MidTech Crowsfoot.

That will throw off your Mojo and invite evil spirts. In mercop's world that is the same thing as attending roll call without a WAWA 20 oz coffee. As a senior officer it is even an accepted excuse to be a few minutes late. Since I carry more off duty then most do on duty I have to pat myself down and do a sensetive item inventory before leaving the habitat.

I always have at least one on me. If I totally lost my mind and ran out of the house without a knife then I forgot my car keys and wallet also so I am not going anywhere.

I would be a mess without a knife, a watch, my wallet, or my keys. As if I had put my shoes on backwards it would bug me all day!! :D

If I forgot a knife, I forgot to put on my pants... (and yes it's happened!)
Um... you mean like those scary "I forgot to put on my pants in the morning" dreams? You've actually had that happen to you?!

Wow. Perhaps you should have a clothing+EDC checklist on your front door so you won't forget. :p

Last night I dreamt about streaking on an American football field. I was only wearing the head of a team mascot costume. Strangely exhilirating, but unfortunately I was knifeless. In most of my clothed dreams, I've got my knives on me.

Whoops, went off topic there. I occasionally find myself embarassingly knifeless in the kitchen. Then I have to trek all the way back to my room to get the scary sharp kitchen knife of the day. In the 5 seconds it takes to get back to my room, I feel terrible for not having a knife on me. :)
