A Lament For a Fallen King (Lets see you 9s)

So far there has been only One pic! Help a fellow Beckerhead out and Show some BK9 luvins (but no pics of That act, please...)

If I had a 9, I would post it. When I get home from work, I can do a few others though.

Yeah guys, come on. I know most of you have one somewhere...

So sorry to hear this. You really put a lot into your 9.

Will you be getting more pieces of your lost kit (knife, micarta, sheath) again over time in the future? I'd love to see pics of a happy ending some day.

Yeah I hope to replace it soon but my knife budget seems to get smaller buy the hour :(

Sorry to hear that man, I hope you can get a new one soon. I have 2 just in case something happens to one I have a back up.

Duel wielding BK9s is almost as scary as a shark with legs!

Nothing worse than a low down scum of the earth worm sucking thief. I've lost plenty in my life, so much so that for some years I never even bought things I wanted just because I figured somebody would just end of stealing 'em.

There is a special place waiting for these folks.

Mrs. C.

OK - I'm pretty sure any idiot who stole this would have trouble grinding out the pattern that's etched in. Not real deep, but certainly not worth the trouble, either.

And while I agree thieves are scum, and I am sorry for your loss.......BK9's are not so outrageously priced that I couldn't move on to a new one. Tho I would curse the bastard extensively beforehand, at least.

That sucks man I know how you feel....had my brand new BK16 stolen right off my pack on the first day of a 4 day camp trip with my bros. Still haven't replaced her but I did get a BK10:)

That's a really cool etching!

How could I resist?

PCB acid etching, deep as the blue sea.

Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Ephesians 4:28
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19

Had several Beckers, and still have a few, but never a 9. I might still one day. In the last year I went through an ESEE jag, then an axe/hatchet jag, and recently a Cold Steel run, so the 9's time will likely come around. Actually I traded an old Brute with the Warrior for a 5, which was one of two knives that I lent out and never got back (so I know what that feels like). I love the 5 and have been happier than a pig in liquid fecal matter since.

A bad ignition switch prevented me from doing my 24 hours with the BK9 trip but I did get out for a few hours at least.

How, pray tell did you do it? Looks incredible!

Sorry for the late reply, but here's the thread:http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1164240-Etching-my-9-with-Celtic-pattern-for-St-Patrick-s-Day!-More-pics-added!

For anyone who doesn't want to look through the whole thread, I used blank sheet of vinyl from the arts and crafts store (Cricut brand, IIRC), drew and cut my pattern, transferred it to the knife and used the electro-etching process (described elsewhere in a couple dozen threads) to "burn" in the pattern.

Sorry to hear about your runin with steel-eating maggot(s)...

My 9 gets used for a lot of random stuff, lots of light machete chores, random cuts and firemaking. I'll still use it to work up larger veggies and meats (which is about the only time it gets cleaned). It's very much a "rode hard and put up wet" kind of knife for me.

Recently, it did almost all of the work of trimming this pine that was encroaching on the walkpath to my door.

Here's a super-fast glamour shot for the internet's sake.

And here's the HD or more realistic view of what she looks like these days.

She's a real handy knife. So handy in fact, that on the way to shoot the pics for this post, she got used to drawknife a portion of wood stock to roundish to chuck in to my drill to stir some pretty separated paint with.

Sorry, brother. If I loss/misplace a blade, it is maddening for me. Can't imagine how it would feel if one was actually stolen from me. Hope you get to replace it soon.

What lovely combo!

Thanks. Got the Ruger used, it was made in '89. When I got it it was about 20 years old but had an issue with spitting unburnt powder and maybe lead between the barrel and cylinder so I sent it to Ruger for repair. When I sent it in I included a note asking for my Lett grips back in the event the gun needed to be replaced. Not only did they replace the barrel free of charge but they threw in a brand new Wiley Clapp grip set to replace the worn originals.

I like Ruger wheel guns. Would really like to get a Super Blackhawk with an unfluted cylinder.

Lots and lots and lots of batoning the kind of wood that'll void your warranty and even prying quite a few boards to finish off a staircase left over from demolishing my deck last summer, my 9 came through for me every time.

Let's hope the 9 realises its not with its true master and bites to SoB right to the bone, preferably taking out some nerves to boot! Thieves are just the skum of the earth!
