A Life Of Crime and Prayers for Dad

If the kid is on his way to a life of crime anyway, steer him towards senior financial managment roles, or very intensive computer tech and systems. He can always hire labor.

Now might be a good time to get the kids' alternate identities set up. I thought about it when I was 18, just for ____s and giggles, but never followed through.

I thought it was his next-older brother who was the potential criminal mastermind?

Nice to see your kids find their roles in life so early, isn't it?

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers regarding my Father.

I'm the Son who fought Dad, and to this day we have a relationship. The other son is long gone- absent by choice, and has no relationship with anyone except his mother. I don't want to miss Dad yet, but it comes to all of us. I've just been enjoying those moments we talk to one another and have put future fears aside. He'll be 'out' today at least. They're leaving him drugged up.

Today I return to the Doctor for the littlest guy. He woke up crying again about his 'knee'. Now, 'knee' pain in a young child can be an appendix and in a male a non descended teste. It could also be his knee. The little guy fell a flight of stairs many weeks ago now. He has mentally recovered but since that time has complained on and off about knee pain. Sheesh; it could even be his back.

We were just at the Doctors for the middle one. He needed his shots. Took it pretty well- one in each shoulder and one in the leg. Now we're back two days later. It takes a couple hundred miles or so and most of a day. I know you parents understand. The little guy will get his shots too while we're there. Shots all around.

A Keith story;

Every night he stays up a little late with me, having had a nap earlier in the day. The favorite program around here is Dragon Ball Z.

Keith loves to pretend my hand is a large spider attacking him. The spider hides under the sofa cushion, my leg, or under the couch. Keith will dig in, yank a finger out, and then with a enormous pull jerk the entire hand into the open. He will then shout at a very loud volume level:

"Kami, KAMI, HAMI, HAMI, HUUMMMMMMMEE!" (this being Goku's standard force beam attack.) The spider will die after recieving one or two of these blasts.

He will play this over and over.

I get a kick out of seeing the intent look on his face as he thrusts both arms straight outwards in delivering the attack.

Prayers for Dad's health :) :)

Best wishes for son's career choice  ;) :p
(looking around for link to ATF recruitment page) ;) ;)

I hope to God this helps, but I've told my son's how screwed up booze and drugs made my life, and they aren't anxious to try them. The oldest is downright anti drug.

Can you believe 30 years ago pop culture taught an entire generation drugs were good? Raising my family in Old America helps.

Anyway, it wouldn't bother me if any of my sons went into Law Enforcement, just as long as the statue of limitations has run out on their old man!!!

Thank you all again for your support of my father.

Best of luck with your dad. Don't worry about the "paranoia"; that is probably just the morphine speaking.

Years ago, my elderly mother had major chest surgery; they didn't know if she'd survive it.
When I saw her afterwards in ICU, she was amazed that I had been able to find her there, in the neighbor's house (!?!?!?!?!).
Then she asked "who told you I was here ?"
The MD said she'd straighten out later on, & she did.

Prayers for you & yours.

Dad's doing better, and your smoke and prayers work. His chest is filled with tubes, but they were able to D/C the breath assistance. Apparently, this procedure sandpapers the chest lining and forms scar tissue. (if my mom's version of events is correct.) They actually apply talc to the tissue.
Anyway, he's still in ICU and tomorow I'll try to reach him.

thank you all.
